COVID Update – 11 April

April 11, 2022

Kia ora everyone,

As we enter the final week of Term 1 our COVID numbers have continued to rise. Attendance has dropped to 70% but we are still able to operate normally and will therefore stay at Stage 1 of our COVID response plan and I am hopeful that we will stay at this stage for the remainder of the week. This week I will provide updates on Wednesday and then on Thursday as part of the newsletter.

As we approach the end of the term, please keep us informed if your child contracts COVID in the holidays. This will be important information for us to collect as we prepare for Term 2. The best way to let us know is to email me directly at jhunnikin@waimate-high.school.nz. I will be working for most of the holidays and will be checking my emails regularly.

Here’s our daily summary:

Total Positive Cases: 82 students and 3 staff members

Current Cases: 27 students and 1 staff member

Recovered students back at school: 55

Current Isolating Household Contacts: 17 students and 1 staff member

Take care,

Jo Hunnikin
