Somers Library

Our library was opened in 1984 and its super-size and design are largely due to the influence of Mrs. Somers, who was a teacher here from 1958 until 1991.

It is a warm, inviting space with a large range of books, both fiction and non-fiction.  eBooks are available via our District Library.

We have desktop computers, along with a printer, photocopier, bean bags (ideal for relaxing in with a good book), and a range of other resources.

It is a busy place used for study, Peer reading, meetings, displaying student work, courses, and as an additional teaching space.

Waimate Council Library

Waimate High School is working with the council to provide all students and the community with access to eBooks. To start using the eBooks you need to be a member of Waimate District Council Library and have an email address – so we suggest you use your school email address or if you have a personal email address, you can use that. Go to the school library for registration forms and get eReading.
